HAPPY Friday folks! What an interesting week in nutrition (personally, that is). I traveled to Arizona for a meeting, which was interesting in itself, but not the topic of this post. I had two opportunities on my outbound and inbound trips to encounter average people and what's going through their head regarding nutrition.
1. Lyft driver to airport. He was interested in what kind of meeting I was traveling to. I told him I was a dietitian. We spent the remainder of time talking about his recent dual diagnosis of high blood pressure and diabetes. He had solid information and had clearly had a great doctor, as well as doing his own homework. We spent our "session" in the car discussing strategies to put new, healthier habits into practice.
2. Airplane tech at ORD. I had to literally run for my connection back in Chicago, with luggage, and showed up to the gate a bit out of breath. He strikes up a conversation and, upon learning my vocation, proceeds to tell me about the 3-day water fast he is getting ready to embark on; that he has DONE HIS RESEARCH; and that his friend is on his 10th day and HAS NEVER FELT BETTER.
Anyway, I woke up yesterday at home, thinking about this and wondering what nutrition issues were top of mind for YOU and how Nutrition On Demand RDs could clarify and provide support.
COMMENT HERE...any nutrition topics that are top of mind for you and/or any such topics that you feel like you need more information/clarification on. We will be choosing some to be posts and blog entries over the coming weeks. 🙋♀️ ... See MoreSee Less
